IPI World Congress 2018 has ended

The International Press Institute (IPI) held its 2018 annual World Congress in Abuja, Nigeria from 21-23 June 2018. Under the theme “Why Good Journalism Matters”, the World Congress affirmed the indispensable role of quality media in building strong societies, showcasing investigative stories and projects that bring positive change to individuals and communities in Africa and around the world.

It has been more than 20 years since the Beijing Platform for Action put gender equality as a critical issue. What we need is less talk and more action! This is a hands-on session designed to encourage editors and journalists to look at critical and protracted gender related challenges in the media with a solution-oriented lens. Editors and journalists are encouraged to to bring their own experiences and clear problem statements from their newsrooms that will be ¨hacked¨ on or worked out during the session. The results? A fresh perspective, new ideas and some commitments that you can take back with you to your newsrooms.
