The behaviour of tracking, monitoring, gathering data and invading privacy otherwise known as surveillance, has become normal practice across the globe. Government surveillance programs are carried out in the name of terrorism, but what is the real motive behind this? How aware are the media about surveillance tactics in their countries and how can they protect their data, employees and their sources?
  • What is the state of surveillance in your country?
  • How has state surveillance impacted the media and the way they operate?
  • How has the sophistication and increase in targeted online attacks changed journalism?
  • How have regulations and laws influenced the parameters of surveillance?
  • Are journalists and media houses aware of the risks?
  • What are safeguards that you are taking to counter surveillance?
