IPI World Congress 2018 has ended

The International Press Institute (IPI) held its 2018 annual World Congress in Abuja, Nigeria from 21-23 June 2018. Under the theme “Why Good Journalism Matters”, the World Congress affirmed the indispensable role of quality media in building strong societies, showcasing investigative stories and projects that bring positive change to individuals and communities in Africa and around the world.

Works with the Electoral Institute, INEC, Nigeria and presently a Deputy Director, Electoral Training and Coordinator, INEC Electoral Risk Management (ERM) Unit.
He ha BA and MA degrees in Political Science and International Relations from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, (ABU) Nigeria, (1987) and University of Abuja, Nigeria (2014) respectively, and also Bachelor of Laws from National Open University (NOUN) of Nigeria (2017).  He also attended Institute for African Renaissance Studies,(IARS), University of South Africa (UNISA), where he obtained Certificate in Management of Democratic Elections in Africa (CMDEA).

Agoha has participated in African Union (AU) Election Observation Missions in Uganda and Zambia, Short and Long Terms respectively in 2016.

He is a member of professional bodies such as Nigeria Institute of Management (Chartered), Workshop Facilitator, BRIDGE, Chartered Institute of Management (CMI), UK and ACE Practitioners Network.
Study Tour to Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy (EISA), SA (2013), Electoral Training on Best Practices, California, USA (2014), Peace Building and Conflict Course, Kenya (2014), Training on Electoral Processes (ICPS), UK (2015), Training on Emerging Trends in Electoral Facilitation and Management, SA (2016), International Workshop on Leveraging Electoral Training Facilities Globally, India 2017,  Elections and Electoral Data Management, Storage and Analysis, ICPS, Los Angeles, USA (2017) including several ERM Conferences in Ethiopia and Senegal, (2015)  and Sweden 2018 are some of the courses and trainings he attended.

He is an Alumni of MDEA UNISA programme and has facilitated several BRIDGE Trainings on Media and Elections.
