Mark Doyle is currently a freelance journalist/ consultant following an award-winning career as a BBC Correspondent and Editor, mostly in Africa. Important stories he covered for the BBC include the Genocide in Rwanda in 1994 and the wars that spread from Liberia across West Africa in the 1990s/2000s. Mark Doyle also charted West Africa's subsequent recovery from those wars as well as the ebola pandemic which hit the region in 2013/14.
Since leaving the BBC in 2015 Mark has trained radio journalists in South Sudan and reporters at the recently-created BBC Pidgin English Service. He worked as a media analyst for a pro-democracy group during last year’s elections in Liberia. As a freelance writer/analyst/trainer he is always looking for new challenges! Mark holds joint British and Sierra Leonean citizenship.
